Grassroots.org has spent several months with several committed partners planning and developing a nonprofit Toolbox; a collection of technology tools developed and integrated to address specific needs within the nonprofit sector. We're revamping our existing tools and services, automating several of our processes, incorporating existing open source tools that are in high demand, and in some cases, even building our own tools from scratch.
Some of the things our folks are working on include:
- The Drupal CMS: installed, configured, hosted, and supported
- An event and conference management suite
- Blogging tools
- Mailing list managers
- Online discussion forums
Take that list with a grain of salt: the Toolbox is still in heavy development, so features might change a little before our final release. We'll keep you posted as we get further along in our development.
We expect to begin testing on our dedicated band of guinea pigs in early 2008, with a public release soon afterwards.
