Meet Rezso

Rezso is 23 years old and lives in Targu Mures, Romania. He is starting his 5th year at Sapientia University, Faculty of Technical and Human Sciences, studying Computer Science. Rezso has been working as a freelance web designer for three years now, and has more than a year of experience in search engine optimization, which he hopes will be his specialty.

While searching on Google for volunteer opportunities, Rezso found Grassroots.org. He has been volunteering since March of his year and has focused mainly on one organization: Belair-Edison Healthy Community Coalition.

I'm really glad that I found this website and that I can help non-profit organizations that otherwise could not afford these services. I must admit I was surprised how well organized and responsive the Grassroots.org staff is. It is a pleasure to work with them.

How has Grassroots.org impacted your life?

The reason why I started to volunteer is that I felt I must give something back to the people, the community, not only take from them. And we all know that receiving a present feels good, but giving one feels even greater.

Starting as a freelance web designer and programmer is very hard without a portfolio and a solid client base. So volunteering on Grassroots.org isn't actually working for free, you get something in return and not only the credit for the hard work, but the opportunity to show your skills and gather experience and all this by helping others. I really hope that I can continue my volunteering and do something good in my spare time.

What are you future goals?

At first I want to finish the university, what happens after that is a mystery. I will continue to expand my knowledge in web design, web programming and I would like to gather as much knowledge and experience as possible in SEO, because I want to earn my living from it.You can also visit my website where I offer web design and SEO services with discounts for non-profit organizations.
