Member Spotlight: TheLAMP

The LAMP is a Grassroots.org member, also known as The Learning About Media Project. Located in New York City, their goal is to "demystify the constant flow of media" for youth, their parents, and educators. In a world where media is quickly changing and constantly evolving, The LAMP enlightens these three groups by using workshops media-related events to inform and teach.

The organization has made use of World Lingo's Language Translation Tool in the Grassroots.org Toolbox. Executive director, D.C. Vito, explains that "with the WorldLingo translation
tool from Grassroots.org, our students can explore our website and blog regardless of their native tongue. This is especially important since we have recently started to teach students in as many as 5 languages.  As a young organization, the cost of WorldLingo would have been prohibitive for us. With the help and support of Grassroots, we are able to breach the language barrier while we grow and connect with diverse communities throughout the city."

To view their toolbar in action, visit TheLAMP's site and navigate their language toolbar. Read our WorldLingo Guide to learn how to place it on your own site! The toolbar should work on any site, regardless of where you are hosted.

We will be calling and emailing our members on this matter, so please help us reach this goal and review the different Grassroots.org Logos we have provided. We thank you for your help!
