Community Spotlight

Featured Member: Pike County Skaters

Pike County Skaters is a Grassroots.org member whose goal is to build a skate park for children in their local community. In their recent blog post for Grassroots.org, Michele Westmas also noted that "today's youth may not read the paper or listen to the radio-- they use the Internet." The organization decided to create a site using our web builder tool. Their experience was a quick and easy one, especially because they were able to extend outreach efforts in their rural Illinois town by placing downloadable forms and flyers on the site.

Most importantly, the organization just received a grant from the Tony Hawk Foundation! Their site contributed by "facilitating communication with members and our community, which adds credibility to our grant applications and funding requests."

Donating to Grassroots.org!

Just as we spotlight different members at Grassroots.org, we also like to feature our donors, because they are the people who keep our services free for the nonprofit community.

Recently, Grassroots.org received a substantial donation from Mark Szymczak, who posted on our blog; "I'm ultimately helping nonprofits secure free tools they can use to make their businesses more effective." Read Mark's post to see his message to donors, and support Grassroots.org's work!
