Golden Ears Hearing Dog Training Center has been in operation since 1993. We are an organization that provides trained Hearing Dogs for the deaf and the severely/profoundly hard of hearing communities. We operate an owner training program as well as occasionally providing program trained hearing dogs for needy individuals.
Sometime ago, our organization realized that our free personal web page on AOL was outdated. We decided to investigate other hosting options. We needed a new site that would give us a more professional appearance. We hoped for site options such as the ability to take donations, receive contacts by email, search, and the ability to demonstrate what we do pictorially. We looked for a host that would support our charitable work and provide us with solid support. We needed a supplier whose servers had little down time, great graphic tools for website creation, and an understanding of small charitable organizations.
We looked at several hosting options, but because we are a small organization without a lot of funds to pay for an Internet presence, we hoped to find a support network that would not charge us for their services, but would give us a myriad of options. We were asking for a lot, but found Grassroots.org met all of our criteria and more! Grassroots.org has become the Internet backbone of our organization. We would be at an enormous disadvantage without their support. Grassroots.org provides us with consistent services. Their association with Doodlekit makes it easy for us to maintain a professional website presence. Better yet, the maintenance is fun! There is no need for us to struggle with arduous website creation programs. Doodlekit and Grassroots.org does it all and does it well.
Of course, beyond creating a site, we are looking to maintain and enrich our web presence. We would love to be able to include a storefront and sell our fundraising products through our own store. We also want to customize our site headers and engage in the built-in SEO from Doodlekit. If necessary, there's always the Grassroots.org SEO consulting. We love the variety of templates and color schemes, and can’t wait to see more! One of the great things about Doodlekit is that we can change our site look so easily; it keeps things from becoming boring for our visitors.
